Dubbeldam Architecture

Dubbeldam architecture had recently approached us with a lighting problem that involved backlighting an onyx wall. Typically backlighting onyx isn’t very difficult but this particular project had no space behind the onyx wall to put any lighting inside. To make things more difficult access from the side wall was constrained with only 3.5 feet of room, this poised a problem because we needed to put at least 10 feet of lighting inside.

The final solution consisted of a custom track system which was mounted inside the wall. You could then pull the track out 3.5 feet and slide in the custom acrylic lighting panels one at a time. The LED panels were slotted on a bottom track and held together by magnets at the top of the track system.
